Dr. Tobin is amazing! He has the best bedside manner of any surgeon i have dealt with. I had thumb joint replacement in Nov 2025. He knew how nervous i was because it can be a very painful procedure and recovery. I had the right thumb replaced at Duke in NC about 15 years ago and the recovery was awful and just so painful. Dr. Tobin listened to my concerns and make sure iI felt at ease. I only need pain meds for a few days. By the 3rd month all is great and back to normal! i can’t say enough good things about this man. Great staff, very helpful and friendly - they make you feel like you’re old friends. Dr Tobin makes sure to gather your history and how the injury is affecting your life, then spends time explaining options, possible courses of action and next steps in a way that’s easy to understand.
After PT to build muscle strength and mobility, we agreed to left knee replacement. Everything was taken care of by the office, I just had to show up the morning of the surgery - no stress. Post surgery I was out of bed and starting PT by the time I was released that night. Home care had been arranged and 2 weeks later PT at The Wellness Institute, right next door to Dr Tobin’s office. Great care with emphasis on recovery without pain. 3 months later I’m back to walking the dog (5-6 miles a day), walking on the beach, even climbing the Harbor Town lighthouse - pain free and with much better mobility than before surgery. Thanks to Dr Tobin and his staff, life has gotten a lot better with ever option back on the table

They followed up with me after the surgery over the holidays just to make sure everything was okay. They have the experience and the professionalism and personal touch that you just don’t see today. I haven't had a lot of surgeries but of the doctors that I have had over the years Dr. Joe Tobin ranks at the top! It starts on the treatment side where he spent months with me utilizing all techniques possible to avoid surgery. But, time eventually dictates the inevitable. Dr. Tobin's counsel and preparation prior to knee surgery was excellent. All elements of the surgery and recovery were explained and the experience was exactly as he stated. He skills and bedside manner are the best. A++

June 2 I had a right hip replacement done by Dr. Tobin and I was a great success. This is the 2nd time I had surgery done by the doctor, the first being a rotator cuff surgery. As said this was my second time seeing the doctor and I am thankful for having such a skilled surgeon repairing my body. I would highly recommend Dr. Tobin for any orthopedic issues you have.

Dr Tobin is an excellent orthopedic surgeon. I had my knee replaced and it has been terrific, can do everything I did before. He is kind and compassionate. I definitely recommend him for any orthopedic problem.
